We've gone and done it

We arrived to Petco today two minutes before they closed; they let us by our things anyway. Why do we do this?

This isn't that awkward, but

Lyndon and I have no notion of what we're doing when it comes to wedding preparations. We are, as they say, "winging it."

This Awkward Moment is brought you to by Sexism

I thought of an awkward time during the latest statistics exam. The same rules applied this time; one table per person if possible. I feel like everyone really wants a table to themselves be that as it may. I don't mind to share; it makes me feel more human (this issue is for another day). I also like to sit in the very front because you get your test the fastest (this has nothing to do with anything really). Well I walk to the very bottom to find my very own desk. I am about to place my stuff at the desk whenever a guy "doesn't see me" and begins to place his things there anyway. When he finally "sees" me, he goes, "Oh!" but proceeds to place them there anyway. Why is this awkward? On this side of things it's very awkward: being so very aware of the male dominance that just kicked my ass.

Young Love

Here's a dialogue which took place today:

Nameless Man: Congratulations, I heard you're getting married!
Me: (touched by his best wishes) Yeah, Thanks!
Nameless Man: Do you think you're a little young to be getting married?
Me: (smiling my awkward smile) Probably.

How appropriate!

Store Closings

A couple of days ago Lyndon and I decided to go to the Alpine Shop to search for items for our backpack trip through Europe this summer. We went in with absolutely no intention of buying a single thing. If you've ever experience the Alpine, you know that they can be a bit pushy. Well one particular salesman checked on us quite often. We were a little perturbed with him. We looked at kayaks, backpacks, sandals, camping gear, clothing; you name it we were in that section for a very long period of time.

We decided that it was time to head home to shower, as we were supposed to meet a friend for her twenty-first birthday. We simultaneously step toward the door to push and BAM, it doesn't budge. We try again; nothing. We turn to look at each other horrified at what we've done.

I said, "Is it closed?" He looks at the backward store hours and finds yes, the store closes at six on Saturdays. I pull out my phone to see that it is now six.twenty. We both awkwardly face the counter, relentlessly apologizing. We have, yet again, overstayed our welcome.

Another Awkward Post

I have nothing awkward to say or share.
